SiVITA : Transforming Rice By-Products intoSustainable Solutions for Agriculture

Rice, a vital dietary staple for millions, undergoes a remarkable journey from raw paddy to the familiar grains we enjoy daily. But its story doesn't stop there. Enter rice husk, a valuable by-product driving sustainable agriculture forward through our innovative SiVITA block.

1

The Rice Milling Process

Our beloved staple, rice, originates from the milling of raw paddy, resulting in 70% kernels, 25% husk, and 5% bran. While kernels are the prized yield, the fate of the husk unveils a fascinating journey.

2

The Role of Rice Husk

Once dismissed as mere waste, rice husk now plays a pivotal role beyond milling. It's a crucial fuel for parboiling, enriching rice with nutrition and texture. Yet, it's the husk's journey after parboiling that truly intrigues.

3

From Waste to Resource: SiVITA Block

The charred remains of rice husk are reborn as the groundbreaking 'SiVITA' block, a sustainable agricultural marvel with far-reaching advantages. With over 60% silica and vital elements like calcium, potassium, and phosphorus, SiVITA stands as a game-changer for crops and the ecosystem alike.

4

Enhanced Plant Protection

Silica, a key element in SiVITA, plays a vital role in enhancing leaf cell wall strength. This reinforcement serves as a robust defense against diseases from fungal spores and insects. By establishing a resilient outer epidermis, SiVITA offers a natural shield, diminishing reliance on chemical interventions such as fungicides and insecticides.

5

Stimulating Root Growth

The advantages of SiVITA go beyond leaf safeguarding. Minerals alongside phosphorus and potassium, fosters the growth of a sturdy root system. A robust root structure enhances nutrient uptake, boosting plant health. This collaboration also amplifies photosynthesis, enabling plants to efficiently convert more atmospheric carbon into their tissues.

6

A Circular System for Sustainability

SiVITA's transformation from rice husk to plant guardian establishes a circular system that champions sustainable rice cultivation. Harnessing a by-product typically discarded, this ingenious solution not only minimizes waste but also bolsters food security.

In the realm of sustainable agriculture, SiVITA is a beacon of innovation, repurposing rice husk into a powerful resource. Enhancing crop protection, fostering stronger roots, and boosting photosynthesis, it's essential for securing our food future. SiVITA proves that from paddy to plate, efficiency and environmental consciousness go hand in hand.

Trusted by Science, Chosen by Farmers —Learn Why SiVITA Works

Studies are currently being conducted at various research stations to explore the application of rice husk ash in soil and crop management. We are pleased to share these relevant reports, which aim to provide our clients with greater confidence in using SiVITA.

1

Eco-friendly utilization of rice husk ash for amending acid soils

Research from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University demonstrates that rice husk ash (RHA) with pH 8.30 effectively ameliorates soil acidity. The study confirms RHA's potential as liming material, with applications at 50 t ha⁻¹ showing comparable results to conventional lime in enhancing soil pH, cation exchange capacity, and base saturation while reducing soil acidity and exchangeable aluminum.

2

Rice Husk Ash (RHA) - A Potential Source for Improving Phosphorus Nutrition in Potato

ICAR research reveals that rice husk ash significantly enhances potato crop performance by improving phosphorus nutrition. Application of 20g RHA per pot increased haulm biomass, tuber yield, and leaf chlorophyll content by 17.8% over control. The study demonstrates RHA's ability to improve water relations and nitrogen nutrition while serving as an effective phosphorus source.

3

Disentangling the effects of rice husk ash on increased plant growth and nitrogen recovery

Published in Geoderma, this comprehensive study using ¹⁵N tracing demonstrates that rice husk ash application significantly improves wheat growth and plant nitrogen uptake. Unlike conventional liming, RHA enhances plant growth through multiple mechanisms beyond pH amelioration, including improved nutrient content and reduced nitrogen losses, making it superior for sustainable agriculture.

4

Rice Husk at a Glance: From Agro-Industrial to Modern Applications

This comprehensive review in Rice Science journal explores the versatile applications of rice husk and its derivatives. With annual global rice production generating 150 million tons of husk, the research highlights rice husk ash's valuable biomaterials with extensive applications in agriculture, construction, pharmacy, and nanobiotechnology, supporting the circular bioeconomy concept.

5

Silicon nutrition in rice: A comprehensive review of current understanding

Published in Nature Scientific Reports, this research investigates silicon's crucial role in rice cultivation and its applications through rice husk ash. The study demonstrates how silicon enhances plant resilience, improves nutrient uptake efficiency, and strengthens plant defense mechanisms against biotic and abiotic stresses, validating SiVITA's scientific foundation.

6

Potential Use of Rice Husk Ash for Enhancing Growth of Maize (Zea mays)

Research from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University shows that rice husk ash substitution at 10 t ha⁻¹ with 50% of recommended potassium significantly enhances maize growth parameters. The study recorded maximum leaf area (45.5 cm²) and plant height (76.6 cm) with RHA treatments, demonstrating its effectiveness in improving crop productivity and nutrient use efficiency.

Science-Backed Innovation

These independent research studies validate SiVITA's effectiveness across multiple crops and soil conditions. From improving phosphorus nutrition to enhancing nitrogen recovery and soil health, the scientific evidence consistently demonstrates SiVITA's superior performance in sustainable agriculture practices.

Healthy soils sustain productivity, diversity, and environmental services.

Sustainable soil management practices maintain, promote, or restore soil health.
